PETER DENEFF





Peter has been involved in Greek music from a very early age playing for weddings, Christenings, festivals and Greek nightclubs in LA. He is an accomplished classical pianist and keyboard player. He has a master’s degree in music and presently composes music for large screenplays. His music workshop materials are in notable businesses with Guitar Center being one of the most popular. He formed the Greek band Synthesi. This is the band that performs for the St John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Food Festival.




JOHN FOTOPOULOS





John is presently the president of St John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church. One of the lead instruments in a Greek band is the Bouzouki. John started his career in music in Chicago. He made his first appearance in the Chicago Greek scene by playing in Greek nightclubs. He has also performed at private engagements as well. John is now part of Synthesi performing in Las Vegas, Phoenix, Anchorage and California.




GEORGE DENEFF





George, the son of Peter, is an accomplished violinist. With his father’s influence, George has broken into the Greek scene and has just begun his career as a Greek musician performing on stage.




VIK MOMJIAN





Vik Momjian is very well known in Southern California performing at the well-known jazz club, the Baked Potato. He has many accolades performing in Greek nightclubs and festivals all over the US. Vik is also a popular musician in the Armenian circa. Vik has played on many recordings for a variety of cultures. His wealth of knowledge in sound and recording venues has placed him as one of the top bass players in the country. His ability to read and compose music puts him in a class of his own.




ANGELO FOTOPOULOS





Born and raised in Chicago, Angelo has an extensive repertoire in Greek music. He was professionally trained on the accordion at a young age. He too has the ability to read music and has performed at several venues in Chicago. He is very well known and respected in Greek circles promoting Greek culture and music ensembles. He primarily holds the rhythm and back up on keyboards for festivals throughout the city.




DIMITRI MATSIS





Dimitri is a native of Greece and is a first-class percussionist. He has performed in Greece for several popular singers including George Dalaras. He is a name that all famous musicians and singers know throughout Greece. He now, fortunately for Synthesi, lives in Southern California.




ATHANASIOS ZERVAS





Athanasios is presently a resident of Greece. We are fortunate enough to bring him to the St John the Baptist Greek Food festival via Chicago. Thanasis, his nickname, has a Doctorates degree in music composition and teaching. He holds the Dean of Music School title at the University of Athens. Need we say more? Of course he is held in high honor throughout Greece and when his name is mentioned. He has performed with many top performers in Greek folk and popular music recordings.
